The atmosphere at Eagle Field Drags is like no other. It is located on an old WW2 Army Air Force training base with an airstrip perfect for an old-school drag race event like Eagle Field Drags. Eagle Field is in Firebaugh, CA, right in the heart of the agricultural area of the Central Valley.

Bob Riedel has a 1936 Plymouth that he races out at Eagle Field Drags; he tows his '36 behind his motor home from Reno, Nevada.

Bob and his wife travel to California to race at Eagle Field Drags. They travel all over the United States with his Plymouth race car in tow. Racing it in Wisconsin, Chicago, New York, Nevada, and other nostalgia drag race events. Bob is not the only one; you hear stories like this all the time. Roger Lee was a special guest at Eagle Field Drags

Roger's attention to detail really stands out in his recreation of the Masters & Richter 1960's era Top Fuel Dragster.

Roger fired the dragster on Saturday evening as the crowd watched the flames that were shooting out of the pipes and "feeling" the sound of the engine throughout your body; it definitely shook up the camp. The original M&R dragster set top speed records in Fremont and Bakersfield. The M&R Special was a fun one to see out at Eagle Field Drags

Isky recognized for his contributions out at Eagle Field Drags

One of the highlights was seeing Ed "Isky" Iskenderian at Eagle Field Drags waving the green flag on the starting line. Isky was celebrating his 100th Birthday with everyone out at Eagle Field.

This was the 11th annual Eagle Field Dragways Reunion. The turnout was excellent for the season opener.

There was a great variety of cars, bikes, and dragsters. All of the cars looked great. They also had an excellent turnout with the JR Dragsters. The swap meet was huge; other vendors were selling their wares along with the swap meet

There were also lots of cool-looking and fast cars running out at Eagle Field Drags over the weekend. Two of them that really caught my attention were Cedric Meeks' 1934 Ford Coupe; it was one of the coolest-looking cars that I've seen.

Along with Cedric's coupe, a dragster looked like it was from right out of the '60s. One of the two dragsters that Kerry Coon (Shave It Customs) brought out to Eagle Field.

Kerry built some outrageously cool cars. The first time I met Kerry was up in Santa Cruz, CA, where he was driving an amazing chopped 1923 Ford Sedan; the top of the car was not much taller than the rear tires.

Eagle Field Drags weekend event is held in May and October. It's not only a drag race event; it's a place where friends can meet up and hang out.
