Car, Bike Culture and Community
For many years, like many of you, I’ve been actively attending car shows and events.
Upon witnessing the impactful community initiatives of one of the car clubs on social media, I began to recognize the individuals and efforts driving these community giving gatherings.
The realization of the significant contributions made by this club and others within the car and bike culture has opened my eyes to the generous spirit that defines this community
Many car shows in California and across the US operate as charity events, where classic car participants pay to showcase their vehicles.
The proceeds contribute to local charities or events collecting essential items for the community, such as food and other needed supplies.
Besides charity events, the car and bike culture actively helps their communities by supporting during California wildfires, assisting families during the pandemic, and aiding those in need.
This giving spirit is especially prominent during the Christmas season when car and bike clubs organize toy drive events, drawing support from club members, classic car owners and enthusiasts in the community.
A few of the toy drive events that I caught this year
Hot Rod Coalition Cruise For A Cause
The Original Yuba-Sutter Toy Run
Goombahs Car Club Toy Drive
Hot Rod Coalition Toy Drive
The toy drive in Old Town Clovis was a resounding success, orchestrated by the Hot Rod Coalition under the banner of Cruise For A Cause.
Classic car owners and enthusiasts turned out in force, resulting in a remarkable turnout that filled a large trailer with new toys.
These toys, collected in partnership with nonprofit AMORelief, will bring joy to needy children in the community.
Special thanks to Hot Rod Coalition and partners Granville Homes and AMORelief for their efforts in making this Christmas memorable for hundreds of kids
The Original Yuba-Sutter Toy Run
The 31st annual motorcycle toy run to support underprivileged kids and families in the Yuba-Sutter area was a success.
Hundreds of bikers gathered at the Hard Rock Casino in Olivehurst, loaded with new toys on their bikes.
Led by a Fire Truck, they rode to Ellis Lake in Marysville for a regroup before reaching the final destination at American Legion Post 807.
The Original Yuba-Sutter Toy Run is more than just an annual event; it also hosts fundraiser meals at the American Legion throughout the year.
Goombahs Car Club Toy Drive
Goombahs Car Club had an evening toy drive event for the nonprofit Family Giving Tree and a great turnout.
Classic car owners, enthusiasts, and folks throughout the community turned out.
Goombahs Car Club is highly active in its community. Goombahs is also the car club that got me to notice what the car and bike culture was doing for their community.
Along with the toy drive, Goombahs Car Club puts on events to help support Second Harvest with food and money.
Second Harvest helps feed families and individuals that may be less fortunate in their community
Thank you for sharing
These charities are vital to our communities. Special thanks to the clubs that organize these events. And the car and bike culture and attendees for their generosity.
