RPM NATIONALS SANTA MARGARITA RANCH
Santa Margarita Ranch is in San Luis Obispo County and it is the home of RPM Nationals. As you cross over the old wooden bridge and wind your way down to the old airstrip passing by old buildings, barns and old vehicles that I would call rusty gold you will see why this is the perfect place for this event.
When getting to the entrance to where the airstrip is we were greeted by a gorgeous 1932 Ford Coupe sitting on top of the hill

GREAT TIMES...
Going to RPM Nationals Flat Head Drags is like stepping back in time. The cars, and atmosphere around this event are like no other, the sites and sounds of these hot rods will make you forget about anything else that you might have going on as you will definitely be in the here and now, all else doesn't really matter at this point. Not sure you will find another car event with so many friendly and happy people.
HOT RODS FROM A DIFFERENT ERA
What you won’t find here drag racing are cars with modern electronics and billet wheels as these cars are early style hot rods, that have the look of early hot rodding when guys would build these cars in their garage and take them out to see who built the fastest car. Thats exactly what these guys are doing now, building these "period correct" hot rods in their garage and shops, then taking them to events like RPM Nationals.
There are 6 race classes at RPM Nationals
4 cylinder street
4 cylinder modified street
4 cylinder full race
v8 street
v8 modified street
8 cylinder full race
Street class must be licensed and able to drive on the public roads same with the modified street but these vehicles can have blowers and overhead conversions Full race - the anything goes power class
