California Frustrations

The Images Behind The Story

This is not a political post, I’m a photographer that just so happened to run across this event while in Sacramento for a car related event.

I’ve seen protest on TV or maybe on a corner as I was driving by like most of us, but never been up close to one before, seeing all this going on all around the State Capitol building on Saturday and having a little time before a car related event that I was headed to, I grabbed my camera and headed in, while practicing social distancing of course.

I’m not sure if this was a political event or a frustration of California being closed down, people loosing their jobs and small businesses hurting from the shut down or maybe a combination of all those things. I thought these images were a sign of our times right now and wanted to share with our car enthusiast community.

We also see the car enthusiast community getting restless with the shut down, seeing all the organized car events virtually non existent and everyone anxiously wait for the organized car events to get back to normal.

With everyone stuck at home and not being able to leave in some areas unless it was for “essential” reasons, the car culture has had enough of this lock down also and they are having their own events and car cruises all over the State like Brentwood Cruise and WCK Car Cruise

There is a bright spot here in late May as some businesses are starting to be able to somewhat open. But even when we do get fully opened up in California it will certainly be rough times for many of us for a while.
